Community InvolvementNorthwestern Mutual Supports Junior Achievement! Northwestern Mutual sponsored Junior Achievement of Southern California’s 16thAnnual Corporate Golf Classic on May 7, 2011, at the prestigious Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA. Over 150 senior corporate executives, VIP’s, volunteers and JA staff enjoyed a day of golf and business networking on the exclusive grounds of Sherwood. New Los Angeles Managing Partner, Matt Plocher, and Managing Directors Shawn Mackey and Tom Stewart participated in this “best ball tournament” that allowed every golfer to play their own ball on the famed Jack Nicklaus course. This year the tournament, under the direction of our own Jeremy Dicker (and JA Board member), surpassed all previous events and raised a record $395,000. Other activities of the day included an evening awards dinner and luxurious silent and live auction. Proceeds of the tournament went towards providing JA education programs to students K-12 throughout Southern California. JA offers experiential hands-on lessons in areas of financial education, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship.
